The Athena IT Group headquarters are located in Southern Jutland, but our hosting centre is 60 miles away in Odense in the former National Bank vault. In addition to our new state-of-the-art hosting centre in Hammelev – which is currently under construction – Athena operates a 1300 m2 hosting centre in Odense which became part of the Group in December of 2007 with the purchase of Munk Hosting for DKK 60 million.
The Odense hosting centre is located in a former National Bank cash depot deep under ground and behind a half metre thick steel door: no power outage, fire, or flood can disturb our customers’ data here!

In the event of fire, an Argonite fire extinguishing system quenches the flames by means of a gas that is completely safe for humans, IT equipment, and your data.

As IT equipment functions best at a constant temperature and humidity, we have a water-based cooling system that keeps an even 21 degrees Celsius at all times. In addition, we have our own electricity transformer station and diesel power generator to keep systems running without interruption, should the public power grid fail.

We are business partners with TDC, whose IP hub is near our building in Odense. This means that we have ample bandwidth, so we can run our systems at maximum speed at all times. For redundancy, we keep an extra line via Global Connect in case of network failure.

Athena’s hosting centre is subject to stringent security and control measures. To meet these demands, we have not only created the safest possible physical setting for your IT operation, but also hired the most competent individuals to monitor it.
